Welcome to procrastination corner...

It's really rather warm today - lots of sun and clear blue sky. Of course, this tends to be an invitation to the average Brit to expose as much pasty white skin as possible, which was why I wasn't too surprised to see a lot of people out and about today. What did seem a bit odd was the number of folk who'd found themselves a nice spot in the sun... on the roadside verges lining the route out of town. The reason for the sunburnt hoardes became clear on my way back from the supermarket - some sort of motorbike convoy or rally - although I feel I'm probably missing something, because in my experience the sort of crowds I saw today tend to assemble for more than that. The Queen, for example.

In other news, did anyone out there see Doctor Who last night? Because - and I do this extremely rarely - SQUEEEEEEEE! I have to say, the Beeb really did good - the series has been consistently well-written, witty, and full of heart. The writers and actors are clearly having a blast, and it shows - sci-fi hasn't been so self-deprecating and so much fun since Red Dwarf. I was also very amused to note that it's rather fandom-friendly, too - I can only imagine the shipping frenzy: most of the characters seem to be game for anything!

The list of Things is gradually diminishing, although the task at the bottom of the list, "Dissertation", doesn't seem to be getting any smaller, which is frustrating. Perhaps I should remove the item above, "procrastination", just for a laugh, and see what happens...

Also, Many Happy Returns of the day to [info]kikei! Have a good one :D
