The thought occurs that none of my posts so far have actually been HP-related! The further thought occurs that I need a break from work. So...

A month or so ago, I was killing time doing one of my sporadic hops around LJ, generally lurking around and seeing what random friends-of-friends-of-friends-of-friends had to say about life and other matters. I don't have the time to do it very often, but it can be quite illuminating, yielding surprising results and giving me pause for thought. This happened to be the case on this occasion, when I came across someone who was of the opinion that the Harry Potter books - or more accurately the world portrayed in them, and by implication their creator, too - are racist.
