First, before I forget again, a (belated) very Happy Birthday to
dipsas! Good to hear you had a lovely time at the meal; I hope the rest of the year to come is equally lovely and full of good food, wine, and friends :D
Monday working wasn't too bad in the end: we drove up the Lincs coast to a remote RAF range and walked out onto the sands to count worm casts. Yes, really! (Sounds like a primary school science field trip, but it's actually something we'd been asked to do by the governmental body in charge of environmental impact within the area, in order to prove the fishery hadn't damaged the beds too much.) The worms seemed oblivious to the fact that they were supposed to be under threat, so all seems to be in order.
I spent yesterday on the boat collecting Environmental Health samples, and this morning in the office - for the first time in months. It was a bit odd, actually - I've been away from my desk for so long that my chair had inexplicably vanished (I stole someone else's, since I reckon that's how I lost mine) and I had to think twice about how to log on to my workstation.
And now I've escaped, and have spent a productive hour applying rust treatment to the underside of the petrol tank of the car. Never has a girl led such a glamourous life as mine, I tell you!
